- 1. The Lord built his city on the holy mountain;
- 2. he loves the gates of Zion more than any other place in Jacob.
- 3. Glorious things have been said about you, city of God!
- 4. “I will number Egypt and Babylon among those who recognize me. Look, among the Philistines, at Tyre, and also at Ethiopia: 'This man was born there'”.
- 5. Indeed, of Zion it will be said: “This or that was born in Zion, and the Most High himself will establish it.”
- 6. The Lord will record, when inscribing the peoples: “This one was born there”.
- 7. Singers and dancers will exclaim: “In you are my springs.”
