  • 1. O Shepherd of Israel, give ear; you who lead Joseph like a flock, you who have your throne above the cherubim, manifest your splendor
  • 2. before Ephraim, Benjamin and Manasseh. Awaken your power and come save us!
  • 3. Restore us, O God; make your face shine upon us, that we may be saved.
  • 4. O Lord, God of hosts, how long will your anger burn against the prayers of your people?
  • 5. You fed them with bread of tears and made them drink tears in great quantities.
  • 6. You make us an object of contention among the neighboring nations, our enemies mock us.
  • 7. Restore us, O God of hosts; make your face shine upon us, that we may be saved.
  • 8. You took a vine out of Egypt; You drove out the nations and planted it.
  • 9. You prepared ground for it, and it took root and filled the earth.
  • 10. The mountains were covered with its shadow, the highest cedars with its branches;
  • 11. its branches extended to the sea, and its shoots to the river.
  • 12. Why have you broken down its fences, allowing everyone who passes by to pluck it?
  • 13. The wild boar of the forest ravages it, and the beasts of the field devour it.
  • 14. Turn to us, O God of hosts! Look from the heavens and see; take care of this vine,
  • 15. from the root that your right hand planted, from the son that you made grow for you.
  • 16. She was burned by fire, she is cut! Perish before your rebuke.
  • 17. Let your hand be upon the man who is your right hand, upon the son of man whom you raised up for yourself.
  • 18. So we will not turn away from you; make us live, and we will call on your name.
  • 19. Restore us, Lord, the God of hosts; make your face shine upon us, that we may be saved.
