Psalms - Old Testament
Psalms – Old Testament
  • 1. The Lord is my light and my salvation; Who will I be afraid of? The Lord is the strength of my life; whom shall I fear?
  • 2. When evildoers approach to destroy me, my adversaries and enemies, they are the ones who stumble and fall.
  • 3. Even if an army encamps against me, my heart will not fear; Even if war rises against me, I will still be confident.
  • 4. One thing I ask of the Lord, that is what I seek: to dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to contemplate the goodness of the Lord and seek his guidance in his temple.
  • 5. For in the day of adversity he will welcome me into his shelter; He will hide me in his tabernacle, and he will set me safe on a rock.
  • 6. Now my head will be lifted up above my enemies around me. In his tabernacle I will offer sacrifices of joy; I will sing and praise the Lord.
  • 7. Hear, Lord, my voice when I cry; have mercy on me and answer me.
  • 8. As I seek your face, my heart says, “Lord, I will seek your face.”
  • 9. Do not hide your face from me, do not reject your servant in anger; you have been my helper. Do not forsake me or abandon me, O God of my salvation!
  • 10. Even if my father and mother abandon me, the Lord will welcome me.
  • 11. Teach me, Lord, your way; guide me in a safe path, because of my adversaries.
  • 12. Do not deliver me into the hands of my enemies, for false witnesses rise up against me, breathing violence.
  • 13. Despite this, I am sure that I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.
  • 14. Wait on the Lord; be strong, courageous. Wait on the Lord.
