Psalms - Old Testament
Psalms – Old Testament
  • 1. Hear, Lord, my just cause; pay attention to my cry. Give ear to my prayer, which is not made with deceitful lips.
  • 2. Let your sentence come in my favor; let your eyes see where righteousness is!
  • 3. You search my heart and examine me at night; try me, and you find nothing; I have decided that my mouth will not sin.
  • 4. As for the actions of men, by the word of your lips I have avoided violent ways.
  • 5. My steps remain firm in your paths; my feet didn't slip.
  • 6. I call upon you, O God, for you answer me; incline your ears to me and hear my prayer.
  • 7. Show the wonders of your love, you who, with your right hand, save those who take refuge in you from their persecutors.
  • 8. Protect me like the apple of your eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings,
  • 9. from the wicked who attack me with violence, from my mortal enemies who surround me.
  • 10. They close their insensitive hearts and speak arrogantly with their mouths.
  • 11. They follow us everywhere, ready to take us down.
  • 12. They are like a lion eager for prey, like a strong lion crouching in his den.
  • 13. Rise up, Lord! Confront them! Take them down! Deliver me from the wicked with your sword.
  • 14. With your hand, Lord, deliver me from these men, from these men of the world, whose portion is in this life. Fill their bellies with your hidden treasure; May they be full of children and whatever is left be left for their little ones.
  • 15. But I will behold your face in righteousness; When I awaken, I will be pleased to see your likeness.
