  • 1. They have often afflicted me since my youth; Let me proclaim now:
  • 2. They have often afflicted me since my youth, but they have never prevailed against me.
  • 3. They plowed on my back, made long furrows on me.
  • 4. The Lord is fair! He broke the bonds of the wicked.
  • 5. Let all who hate Zion be put to shame and turn away.
  • 6. Be like grass on the roof that dries up before it blooms,
  • 7. which does not fill the hand of the reaper nor the arm of him who binds the sheaves.
  • 8. And let no one passing by say, “The blessing of the Lord be upon you; we bless you in the name of the Lord!”
