  • 1. Save us, Lord! There are no longer any who are true; No one can be trusted among men.
  • 2. Everyone lies to his neighbor; their flattering lips speak deceitfully.
  • 3. May the Lord cut off all sycophantic lips and arrogant tongues
  • 4. of those who say: “We will prevail with our tongue; We are masters of our own lips! Who can govern us?”
  • 5. “Because of the oppression of the needy and the groaning of the poor, I will now arise,” says the Lord. “I will provide the security they so desire.”
  • 6. The words of the Lord are pure, like silver refined in a furnace, purified seven times.
  • 7. You, Lord, will keep us safe, and protect us from this wicked generation forever.
  • 8. The wicked are everywhere, when corruption is exalted among men.
