Assembling the lamps

1. And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:
2. Speak to Aaron and say to him: When you light the lamps, the seven lamps will give light before the candlestick.
3. And Aaron did so; He lit his lamps so that they shined in front of the candlestick, as the Lord had commanded Moses.
4. And this was the work of the candlestick, the work of beaten gold; from its foot to its flowers, it was made of beaten gold; According to the pattern that the Lord had shown Moses, he made the candlestick.

The consecration of the Levites

5. And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:
6. Take the Levites from among the children of Israel, and purify them.
7. This is what you will do to them to purify them: sprinkle water of purification on them; and pass the razor over their whole body, and let them wash their clothes, and purify themselves.
8. And they shall take a bull, with its meat offering, of fine flour mixed with oil; and you shall take another bull for a sin offering.
9. And thou shalt bring the Levites before the tabernacle of the congregation, and thou shalt gather together all the congregation of the children of Israel.
10. And thou shalt bring the Levites before the LORD, and the children of Israel shall lay their hands upon the Levites;
11. and Aaron shall offer the Levites before the Lord, as a wave offering, from the children of Israel, to do the service of the Lord.
12. And the Levites shall lay their hands on the heads of the bulls, and you shall offer one as a wave offering before the Lord for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering, to make atonement for them.
13. And you shall set the Levites before Aaron and before his sons, and you shall offer them as a wave offering to the Lord.
14. In this way you will separate the Levites from among the children of Israel; and the Levites will be mine.
15. After this the Levites will come to do the work of the tent of meeting; and thou shalt purify them, and offer them as a wave offering.
16. For they are entirely given to me from among the children of Israel; I took them to myself instead of all the firstborn among the children of Israel.
17. For every firstborn among the children of Israel is mine, both man and beast; from the day that I smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, I sanctified them to myself.
18. And I took the Levites in place of all the firstborn among the children of Israel.
19. And I gave the Levites as a gift to Aaron and to his sons from among the children of Israel, to do service for the children of Israel in the tent of meeting, and to make atonement for the children of Israel; so that there will be no plague among the children of Israel, when the children of Israel come to the sanctuary.
20. And Moses and Aaron and all the congregation of the children of Israel did to the Levites according to all that the Lord commanded Moses concerning the Levites; thus did the children of Israel do to them.
21. And the Levites purified themselves, and washed their clothes; and Aaron offered them as a wave offering before the Lord; and Aaron made atonement for them, to purify them.
22. And after this the Levites came to do their service in the tabernacle of the congregation, before Aaron and before his sons; as the Lord commanded Moses concerning the Levites, so they did to them.
23. And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:
24. This is what belongs to the Levites: from the age of twenty-five years and upwards they will enter to take part in the service of the tent of meeting;
25. but at the age of fifty they will cease to take part in the service and will serve no more.
26. But they shall minister with their brethren in the tabernacle of the congregation, to keep the charge, but they shall not do the service; This is what you will do to the Levites regarding their burdens.
