The Consecration Offerings of the Tabernacle

  • 1. So it came to pass on the day that Moses had finished setting up the tabernacle and anointing and sanctifying it, and all its utensils, and the altar and all its utensils, and anointing and sanctifying them. ,
  • 2. the princes of Israel, the heads of the houses of their fathers, who were princes of the tribes and were numbered, brought their offering;

  • 7. To the sons of Gershom he gave two carts and four oxen, according to their service.
  • 8. And to the children of Merari, according to their service, he gave four carts and eight oxen, under the hand of Ithamar, son of Aaron the priest.
  • 9. But he did not give it to the sons of Kohath, because the service of the sanctuary carried them on their shoulders.
  • 10. And the princes brought the offering for the consecration of the altar, on the day that it was anointed; they brought their offering before the altar.
  • 11. And the LORD said unto Moses, One prince a day, a prince a day, shall offer his offering for the consecration of the altar.
  • 12. And he that offered on the first day was Nahasson the son of Amminadab, of the tribe of Judah.

  • 18. On the second day Nathanael son of Zuar, prince of Issachar, offered.

  • 80. a golden censer, weighing ten shekels, filled with incense;
  • 81. a bullock, a ram, a lamb a year old, for a burnt offering;
  • 82. a goat for sin expiation;
  • 83. and for the peace offering, two oxen, five rams, five goats, five lambs of the first year; This was the offering of Ahirah, son of Enan.
  • 84. This was the consecration of the altar, on the day in which it was anointed, by the hands of the princes of Israel; twelve silver trays, twelve silver basins, twelve golden censers.
  • 85. Each silver tray weighed one hundred and thirty shekels, and each basin seventy shekels; all the silver vessels together weighed two thousand and four hundred shekels, according to the shekel of the sanctuary.
  • 86. The twelve golden censers filled with incense weighed ten shekels each, according to the shekel of the sanctuary; the weight of everything was two hundred and forty shekels.
  • 87. All the oxen for the burnt offering were twelve; the rams twelve, and the lambs of a year old twelve, with their meat offerings; and the goats for the sin offering twelve.
  • 88. And all the oxen for the peace offering were twenty-four; the rams sixty; the goats sixty; the lambs of a year sixty-two; this was the sacrifice of consecration of the altar, after being anointed.
  • 89. And when Moses entered the tent of the congregation to speak with Him, then he heard the voice speaking to him from above the mercy seat, which was on the ark of the testimony, from between the two cherubim; This is what He spoke to him.
