Penalties for various crimes

• 1. The LORD said further to Moses:
• 2. You shall also say to the children of Israel: Whoever of the children of Israel, or of the foreigners who sojourn in Israel, who gives any of his children to Molech, shall certainly be put to death; the people of the land will stone him.
• 3. And I will set my face against that man, and will cut him off from among his people; because he gave of his descendants to Molech, to defile my sanctuary and profane my holy name.
• 4. And if the people of the land in any way hide their eyes from that man who gives one of his sons to Molech, so as not to kill him,
• 5. Then I will set my face against that man, and against his family, and will cut him off from among his people, and all who go with him, who commit prostitution with Molech.
• 6. As for the soul that turns to those who consult the dead and to sorcerers, prostituting itself with them, I will set my face against that soul, and I will cut it off from among its people.
• 7. Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be holy, for I am the LORD your God.
• 8. And keep my statutes, and do them. I am the LORD who sanctifies you.
• 9. For whoever curses his father or his mother will certainly be put to death; cursed his father or mother; his blood will be on him.
• 10. And whoever commits adultery with another man's wife, even he who commits adultery with his neighbor's wife, will certainly be put to death, the adulterer and the adulteress.
• 11. Also the man who lies with his father's wife has uncovered his father's nakedness; both will certainly be killed; their blood will be on them.
• 12. And if a man lies with his daughter-in-law, they shall surely die; they created confusion; their blood will be on them.
• 13. Also if a man lies with another man, as with a woman, both of them have done an abominable thing; they will certainly die; their blood will be on them.
• 14. And if a man takes a woman and her mother, it is evil; They will burn him and them with fire, so that there will be no evil among you.
• 15. Also whoever has sex with an animal will certainly be killed; and you will kill the animal.
• 16. And if a woman approaches any animal to be with it, you shall kill the woman together with the animal; they will certainly die; their blood will be on them.
• 17. And if a man take his sister, his father's daughter, or his mother's daughter, and see her nakedness, and she sees his nakedness, it is an abominable thing; therefore they will be cut off from the eyes of the children of their people; discovered the nakedness of his sister, he will bear her iniquity.
• 18. Also if a man lies with a menstruating woman, and uncovers her nakedness, and she discovers the source of her blood, both of them will be cut off from among their people.
• 19. You shall not uncover the nakedness of your mother's sister or your father's sister; because she has discovered her relative, they will bear her iniquity.
• 20. And if a man lieth with his uncle's wife, he hath uncovered his uncle's nakedness; they will certainly bear their sin; without children they will die.
• 21. And if a man takes his brother's wife, it is an abominable thing; he discovered his brother's nakedness; they will be childless.
• 22. Therefore you shall keep all my statutes and all my judgments, and do them; lest the land, where I bring you to dwell, vomit you out.
• 23. And do not walk in the statutes of the nations which I cast out before you; because they did all these things, therefore I abhorred them.
• 24. But I have said to you: You will possess their land, and I will give it to you to possess it, a land flowing with milk and honey; I am the LORD your God, who separated you from the people.
• 25. Therefore you shall distinguish between a clean animal and an unclean one, and between an unclean bird and a clean one; and do not become abominable because of animals, or birds, or anything that moves on the earth, which I have separated from you as unclean.
• 26. And you will be holy to me, because I, the LORD, am holy, and have separated you from the people, to be mine.
• 27. Also the man or woman who, consulting the dead, performs works of witchcraft, or omens, will certainly die; they will be stoned; their blood will be on them.
