Mordecai's prestige
- 1. King Xerxes imposed tribute on the entire empire, including the remote coastal regions.
- 2. All his mighty deeds and the full narrative of the greatness of Mordecai, on whom the king conferred authority, are recorded in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Media and Persia.
- 3. Mordecai the Jew held the second most honorable position, right after King Xerxes. He was a man of great importance among the Jews and was loved by all, as he worked for the welfare of his people and promoted their prosperity.
