Verses from Proverbs Chapter 26 of the book of Proverbs in the Bible.

- 2. Like the sparrow that flies in flight and the swallow that flutters quickly, so a curse without a just cause will not prosper.

- 4. Do not respond to a fool with similar foolishness, lest you become like him.
- 5. Answer a fool as his folly deserves, lest he consider himself wise.

- 7. The legs of the lame hang useless, and so is the proverb in the mouth of the fool.
- 8. Honoring a fool is like tying a stone to a sling.
- 9. Like a bunch of thorns in the hands of a drunkard, so is a proverb in the mouth of a fool.
- 10. Hiring a fool or anyone passing by is like an archer who shoots at random.
- 11. As a dog returns to its vomit, so a fool repeats his folly.
- 12. Have you seen someone who considers himself wise? There is more hope for the fool than for him.
- 13. The lazy man says: “There is a lion in the way; a fierce lion is in the streets!”
- 14. Just as the door turns on its hinges, so the lazy man tosses and turns in his bed.
- 15. The lazy man puts his hand on the plate, but finds it difficult to bring it back to his mouth.
- 16. The lazy man considers himself wiser than seven men who respond with discernment.
- 17. Like someone who grabs a dog by the ears, so is someone who meddles in other people's arguments.
- 18. Like the madman who shoots burning coals and deadly arrows,
- 19. Such is the man who deceives his neighbor and says, “I was just joking!”

- 21. Just as coal is for the embers and wood for the fire, a friend who fights is for stirring up discord.

- 23. Like a layer of glaze on a clay vessel, so are friendly lips that hide an evil heart.
