  • 1. We give thanks to you, O God, we give thanks, for your name is near; everyone proclaims your wonders.
  • 2. You say: “I determine the time to exercise justice.
  • 3. When the earth and all its inhabitants falter, I am the one who supports its pillars.
  • 4. To the arrogant I say: Stop boasting! And to the wicked: Do not lift your heads!
  • 5. Do not defy the heavens with insolence, do not speak arrogantly.”
  • 6. It is not from the east, nor from the west, nor from the desert that exaltation comes.
  • 7. It is God who judges: He humiliates some and exalts others.
  • 8. In the hand of the Lord is a cup full of mixed sparkling wine; he pours it out, and all the wicked on earth drink it to the last drop.
  • 9. As for me, I will declare it forever; I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.
  • 10. I will destroy the power of all the wicked, but the strength of the righteous will increase.
