- 1. God is our safety and protection, always present in times of adversity.
- 2. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth tremble and the mountains sink into the heart of the sea;
- 3. even if the waters tumult and shake, and the mountains tremble with their fury.
- 4. There is a river whose currents make glad the city of God, the Holy Place where the Most High dwells.
- 5. God is in the midst of it; she will not be shaken. At the break of dawn, God will help her.
- 6. Nations are shaken, kingdoms are shaken; he makes his voice heard, and the earth melts.
- 7. The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our safe haven.
- 8. Come and see the works of the Lord, the wonders he performs on earth.
- 9. He puts an end to wars to the ends of the earth; break the bow, shatter the spear, burn the shields in the fire.
- 10. “Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”
