Psalms - Old Testament
Psalms – Old Testament
  • 1. Lord, you are our constant strength, from generation to generation.
  • 2. Even before the formation of the mountains, and the creation of the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting, you are God.
  • 3. You make man return to the dust, saying: “Return to the dust, O human being!”
  • 4. For a thousand years before you are like yesterday, like a watch in the night.
  • 5. You sweep them away like a mighty river; they are fleeting like the sleep of the night; they are like grass that springs up in the morning;
  • 6. It blooms and grows in the morning, but in the afternoon it withers and dries up.
  • 7. We are consumed by your wrath and terrified by your wrath.
  • 8. You know our iniquities; Our hidden sins do not escape before your presence.
  • 9. All our days pass under your burning zeal; fade away like a sigh.
  • 10. The years of our life reach seventy, or even eighty, if we have vigor; however, they are full of work and affliction, for life passes quickly, and we fly!
  • 11. Who can understand the strength of your anger? For your wrath is as fearful as the respect due to you.
  • 12. Teach us to value each day, so that our hearts may be filled with wisdom.
  • 13. Turn to us, Lord! How long will you take? Have mercy on your servants!
  • 14. Satisfy us in the morning with your faithful love, and we will sing for joy all our days.
  • 15. Give us joy according to the days we suffer, the years we face adversity.
  • 16. May your deeds be revealed to your servants, and your splendor to their children.
  • 17. May the goodness of our Sovereign God be upon us. Strengthen for us the work of our hands; yes, strengthen the work of our hands!
