  • 1. How lovely is your dwelling place, O Lord of hosts!
  • 2. My soul yearns, and even faints, for the courts of the Lord; my heart and my body exult with joy to the living God.
  • 3. Even the sparrow found a home and the swallow a nest for herself, where she keeps her young, a place near your altar, O Lord of hosts, my King and my God.
  • 4. Happy are those who live in your house; praise you incessantly!
  • 5. Happy are those who find strength in you, and those who have their hearts set on pilgrimage!
  • 6. As they pass through the valley of Baca, they transform it into a place of springs; autumn rains also fill you with blessings.
  • 7. They walk with increasing vigor, until each one appears before God in Zion.
  • 8. Hear my prayer, O Lord God of hosts; Listen to me, O God of Jacob.
  • 9. Look upon us, O God, our shield; treat your anointed with kindness.
  • 10. One day in your courts is better than a thousand elsewhere; I would rather be at the door of the house of my God than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.
  • 11. For the Lord God is a sun and a shield; the Lord grants grace and glory; no good thing withholds from those who walk uprightly.
  • 12. O Lord of hosts, how happy is he who trusts in you!
