- 1. God stands up in the divine assembly; in the midst of the gods, he judges:
- 2. “How long will you judge unjustly and favor the wicked?
- 3. Defend the weak and the orphan; do justice to the afflicted and the needy.
- 4. Free the weak and the poor; free them from the hands of the wicked.
- 5. “They know nothing, they understand nothing. They wander in darkness; all the foundations of the earth are shaken.
- 6. I said, 'You are gods; you are all children of the Most High'.
- 7. But you will die like mere mortals; They will fall like any other ruler.”
- 8. Arise, O God, judge the earth, for all the nations belong to you.
