  • 1. Do not envy the wicked, nor desire to walk with them;
  • 2. For destruction is what they plan in their hearts, and they only talk about violence.
  • 3. With wisdom the house is built, and with discernment it is established.
  • 4. Through knowledge, the rooms of the home are filled with what is valuable and pleasant.
  • 5. A wise man is powerful, and he who has knowledge increases his strength;
  • 6. Whoever prepares for battle needs guidance, and with many advisors victory is achieved.
  • 7. Wisdom is too high for a fool; he doesn't know what to say in meetings.
  • 8. He who plans evil will be known as a fomer of intrigue.
  • 9. The plotting of a fool is a sin, and a mocker is despised by men.
  • 10. If you lose heart in the day of adversity, how limited your strength will be!
  • 11. Free those who are being led to death; help those who walk tremblingly towards the slaughter!
  • 12. Even if you say, “We didn’t know what was happening!” Wouldn't he understand who searches the hearts? Wouldn't he who preserves life know? Will he not repay each one according to his manner?
  • 13. Eat honey, my son, it is good for you. The honeycomb is sweet to the taste.
  • 14. Know that wisdom is also beneficial to your soul; If you find it, there will certainly be a future for you, and your hope will not be dashed.
  • 15. Do not lie in wait, as the wicked does, against the house of the righteous, and do not destroy his resting place,
  • 16. for even if the righteous falls seven times, he will rise again, but the wicked are swept away by calamity.
  • 17. Do not rejoice when your enemy falls, nor let your heart rejoice when he stumbles,
  • 18. lest the Lord see this and be displeased, and turn away his anger from him.
  • 19. Do not be angry because of the wicked, nor envy the wicked,
  • 20. for there is no future for evil, and the lamp of the wicked will go out.
  • 21. Fear the Lord and the king, my son, and do not associate with rebels,
  • 22. for they will have sudden destruction, and who can imagine the ruin that the Lord and the king can cause?
  • 23. Here are other wise sayings: Judging with partiality is not good at all.
  • 24. Whoever says to the wicked, “You are righteous,” will be cursed by the people and will suffer the wrath of the nations.
  • 25. But those who condemn the guilty will have a pleasant life; will receive great blessings.
  • 26. A sincere answer is like a kiss on the lips.
  • 27. Finish your work outdoors first; get your crops ready. Then start a family.
  • 28. Do not testify against your neighbor without reason or use your lips to deceive him.
  • 29. Do not say, “I will do to him as he did to me; he will pay for what he did.”
  • 30. I passed through the field of the lazy, through the vineyard of the foolish man;
  • 31. There were thorns everywhere, the ground was covered with weeds, and the stone wall was in ruins.
  • 32. I watched that and I was thinking; I looked and learned this lesson:
  • 33. “I’m going to get some sleep,” you say. “I'm going to doze for a moment; I’m going to cross my arms and rest a little longer”,
  • 34. but poverty will come upon him like a robber, and his misery like an armed man.
