  • 3. Therefore, I am about to destroy Baasha and his family, just as I did the family of Jeroboam son of Nebat.

  • 7. The word of the Lord came through the prophet Jehu, son of Hanani, to Baasha and his family, because of all the evil they had done in the sight of the Lord, provoking his anger by becoming like the family of Jeroboam, and because Baasha destroyed Jeroboam's family.

  • 17. Then Omri and all the army of Israel departed from Gibeton and besieged Tirzah.
  • 18. When Zimri saw that the city had been taken, he entered the royal palace and set fire to the palace around him. And died,
  • 19. because of the sins that he had committed, doing what was evil in the sight of the Lord, walking in the ways of Jeroboam and in the sin that he had committed and caused Israel to commit.

Omri is king of Israel

  • 26. He walked in the ways of Jeroboam, the son of Nebat, and in the sin that he had committed and caused Israel to commit, provoking the anger of the Lord, the God of Israel, with his worthless idols.
  • 27. The other events of Omri's reign, his acts and his achievements, are written in the historical records of the kings of Israel.

  • 32. He built an altar to Baal in the temple of Baal that had been built in Samaria.
  • 33. Ahab also made a sacred pole. Thus he provoked the anger of the Lord, the God of Israel, more than all the kings of Israel before him.
