Psalms, Chapter 60:

• 1. Thou hast cast us off and scattered us, O God; you poured out your anger on us. Restore us now!
• 2. You shook the earth and opened cracks in it; mend its cracks, for it is about to crumble.
• 3. You made your people pass through severe trials; you gave us to drink wine that makes us dizzy.
• 4. However, to those who fear you, you gave a sign, so that they fled from the arrows of the enemy.
• 5. Save us with your right hand and answer us, so that those you love may be delivered.
• 6. God spoke from his sanctuary: ′′ I will triumph, I will divide Shechem and divide the valley of Succoth.
• 7. Gilead belongs to me, Manasseh also; Ephraim is my helmet, and Judah is my scepter.
• 8. Moab is the basin where I wash; on Edom I cast my sandal; over Philistia I shout in victory!”
• 9. Who will lead me into the fortified city? Who will guide me to Edom?
• 10. Was it not you, O God, who rejected us and stopped going out with our armies?
• 11. Give us help against the enemy, for useless is human help.
• 12. With God we will win the victory, and he will trample down our adversaries.
