  • 1. The Lord, the supreme God, speaks; summons the entire earth, from east to west.
  • 2. From Zion, the perfect place in beauty, God shines with splendor.
  • 3. Our God comes! It certainly will not remain silent! Before Him, there is a devouring fire, and around Him, a violent storm.
  • 4. He summons the heavens above and the earth below for the judgment of His people:
  • 5. “Gather together, My faithful, those who have made a covenant with Me with sacrifice.”
  • 6. And the heavens proclaim His justice, for God Himself is the judge.
  • 7. “Listen, My people, for I will speak; I will testify against you, O Israel, I who am God, your God.
  • 8. I do not rebuke you for your sacrifices, nor for the burnt offerings that you always offer Me.
  • 9. I have no need for bulls from your stables or goats in your pens,
  • 10For all the animals in the forest are Mine, the cattle on the hills also belong to Me in thousands.
  • 11. I know all the birds of the mountains and care for the creatures of the field.
  • 12. If I were hungry, would I tell you? For the world is Mine, and everything in it.
  • 13. Do I eat the flesh of bulls or drink the blood of goats?
  • 14. Offer your gratitude to God as a sacrifice, fulfill your vows to the Most High,
  • 15. and cry out to Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor Me.”
  • 16. But to the wicked God says: “What right do you have to recite My laws or to repeat My covenant?
  • 17. You hate My discipline and turn your back on My words!
  • 18. You see a thief and become his companion, and mix with adulterers.
  • 19. Their mouth is full of wickedness, and their tongue weaves deceit.
  • 20. You speak maliciously against your brother and slander your own mother's son.
  • 21. Would I think about remaining silent in the face of everything you have done? Do you think I'm like you? But now I will accuse you directly, without omitting anything.
  • 22. “Think about this, you who forget God; otherwise I will tear them to pieces, and there will be no one to deliver them.
  • 23. He who offers Me his gratitude as a sacrifice honors Me, and I will show the salvation of God to him who follows My ways.”
