  • 1. Praise, O my soul, the Lord, with all my being!
  • 2. Throughout my entire existence, I will give thanks to the Lord; with songs and praises to my God, I will honor each day of life.
  • 3. In God, the Eternal, I place my trust; for princes and mere mortals cannot save me.
  • 4. For when the human spirit leaves, it returns to the dust, and on the same day, all its projects fade away.
  • 5. Blessed is he whose help comes from the God of Jacob, whose hope rests in the Lord his God,
  • 6. Creator of the heavens, the earth and the seas, and who maintains His faithfulness for all eternity!
  • 7. He watches over the oppressed, giving them support; He gives food to the hungry and freedom to the imprisoned.
  • 8. The Lord gives sight to the blind, lifting up the humble, and His love pours out on the righteous.
  • 9. He protects the stranger, the orphan and the widow, but he frustrates the plans of the wicked.
  • 10. The Lord reigns forever, in all times and places! O Zion, rejoice in your God, for He is King from generation to generation. Hallelujah!
