  • 1. A wise son welcomes his father's instruction, but a mocker does not listen to reproof.
  • 2. From the fruit of his mouth, man enjoys good things, but the unfaithful desire is violence.
  • 3. Whoever guards his mouth guards his life, but whoever talks too much ends up ruining himself.
  • 4. The lazy man desires and achieves nothing, but the desires of the diligent are largely satisfied.
  • 5. The righteous hate what is false, but the wicked bring shame and disgrace.
  • 6. Righteousness protects the upright man, but wickedness overthrows the sinner.
  • 7. Some pretend to be rich and have nothing; others pretend that they are poor and have great wealth.
  • 8. A man's riches serve as a ransom for his life, but the poor man never receives threats.
  • 9. The light of the righteous shines brightly, but the lamp of the wicked goes out.
  • 10. Pride only generates arguments, but wisdom is with those who take advice.
  • 11. The money earned through dishonesty will decrease, but whoever adds it little by little will have more and more.
  • 12. Hope that is delayed makes the heart sick, but a satisfied desire is a tree of life.
  • 13. Whoever mocks the instruction will pay for it, but whoever respects the commandment will be rewarded.
  • 14. The teaching of the wise is a source of life and keeps man away from the traps of death.
  • 15. Good understanding wins favor, but the path of the unfaithful is rough.
  • 16. Every prudent man acts on the basis of knowledge, but a fool exposes his folly.
  • 17. The wicked messenger falls into trouble, but the trustworthy messenger brings healing.
  • 18. Whoever disregards discipline falls into poverty and shame, but whoever welcomes reproof receives honorable treatment.
  • 19. A satisfied desire pleases the soul, but a fool hates to turn away from evil.
  • 20. He who walks with the wise will become wiser and wiser, but the companion of fools will end badly.
  • 21. Misfortune pursues the sinner, but prosperity is the reward of the righteous.
  • 22. A good man leaves an inheritance for his children's children, but the sinner's wealth is stored up for the righteous.
  • 23. The poor man's crops produce plenty of food, but due to lack of justice he loses it.
  • 24. Whoever refuses to punish his son does not love him; those who love him do not hesitate to discipline him.
  • 25. The righteous eat until their appetite is satisfied, but the wicked remain hungry
