  • 1. For the second time, the lot fell on the tribe of Simeon, clan by clan. Their inheritance was located within the territory of Judah.
  • 2. They received the following cities: Beersheba or Sheba, Moladah,
  • 3. Hazar-Sual, Balá, Azem,
  • 4. Eltolade, Betul, Hormah,
  • 5. Ziklag, Beth-Marcaboth, Hazar-Susa,
  • 6. Bethlebaoth and Saruem. There were thirteen cities with their respective villages.
  • 7. They also received Ain, Rimmon, Ether and Ashan, four cities with their respective villages. This was the inheritance of the tribe of Simeon, clan by clan.
  • 8. In addition, all the villages around these cities were included as far as Baalath-Beer, known as Ramah, in the Negev.
  • 9. The inheritance of the Simeonites was taken from Judah, because Judah had received more land than it needed. Thus the Simeonites received their inheritance within the territory of Judah.
  • 10. For the third time, the lot fell on the tribe of Zebulun, clan by clan. The border of his inheritance ran as far as Saride.
  • 11. From there, it went west, reached Maralá, passed through Dabesheth and extended to the river near Jocneão.
  • 12. From Saride it turned east toward the territory of Kisloth-Tabor, continued to Daberath and went up to Japhia.
  • 13. Then it continued eastward to Gath-hepher and Eth-cazim, reaching Rimmon and turning toward Neah.
  • 14. From the north, the border went back to Hanatom and ended in the valley of Iftah-El.
  • 15. In this territory were also Catath, Naalal, Sinrom, Idala and Bethlehem. There were twelve cities with their respective villages.
  • 16. These cities and their villages were the inheritance of Zebulun, clan by clan.
  • 17. For the fourth time, the lot fell on the tribe of Issachar, clan by clan.
  • 18. Their territory included Jezreel, Kesuloth, Shunem,
  • 19. Hafaraim, Sihon, Anaarath,
  • 20. Rabith, Kisimon, Ebez,
  • 21. Remete, En-Ganim, En-Hadah and Beth-peace.
  • 22. The border reached Tabor, Shaazimah and Beth Shemesh, and ended at the Jordan. There were sixteen cities with their respective villages.
  • 23. These cities and their villages were the inheritance of the tribe of Issachar, clan by clan.
  • 24. For the fifth time, the lot fell on the tribe of Asher, clan by clan.
  • 25. Their territory included Helcate, Hali, Bethen, Acsafe,
  • 26. Alameleque, Amade and Misal. The western border reached Carmel and Sior-Libnate.
  • 27. From there it turned east towards Beth-dagon, reached Zebulun and the valley of Iftah-El, and went north, reaching Beth-emek and Neiel, passing Kabul on the left,
  • 28. Ebron, Rehob, Hamon, and Cana unto Sidon the great.
  • 29. Then the border went back to Ramah and headed towards the fortified city of Tyre, turned towards Hosah and ended at the sea in the region of Achzib,
  • 30. Umah, Aphek and Rehob. There were twenty-two cities with their respective villages.
  • 31. These cities and their villages were the inheritance of the tribe of Asher, clan by clan.
  • 32. For the sixth time, the lot fell on the tribe of Naphtali, clan by clan.
  • 33. Its border extended from Heleph and the oak of Zaanim, passed through Adami-Negeb and Jabneel, and went to Lacum, ending at the Jordan.
  • 34. Then it turned west, passed through Aznote-Tabor and headed towards Hucoque. It reached Zebulun to the south, Asher to the west and the Jordan to the east.
  • 35. The fortified cities were Zidim, Zer, Hamath, Rakat, Chinereth,
  • 36. Adamah, Ramah, Hazor,
  • 37. Kedesh, Edrei, En-Hazor,
  • 38. Irom, Migdal-El, Horem, Beth-Anath and Beth-Shemesh. There were nineteen cities with their respective towns.
  • 39. These cities and their villages were the inheritance of the tribe of Naphtali, clan by clan.
  • 40. For the seventh time, the lot fell on the tribe of Dan, clan by clan.
  • 41. Their territory included Zorah, Eshtaol, Ir-Shemesh,
  • 42. Shaalabim, Aijalon, Itla,
  • 43. Elon, Timnah, Ekron,
  • 44. Eltek, Gibethon, Baalat,
  • 45. Jehud, Ben-berach, Gath-rimmon,
  • 46. Me-Jarcom and Racom, and the region opposite Joppa.
  • 47. However, the tribe of Dan had difficulty taking possession of their territory. Therefore, they attacked Lesém, conquered it, put it to the sword and occupied it. They settled in Leshem and named it Dan, in honor of their ancestor.
  • 48. These cities with their villages were the inheritance of the tribe of Dan, clan by clan.

Joshua's territory

  • 49. When they had finished dividing the land into delimited territories, the Israelites gave Joshua son of Nun an inheritance among them,
  • 50. as the Lord had commanded. They gave him the city he had asked for, Timnath-sera, in the mountains of Ephraim, where he rebuilt the city and settled.
  • 51. These were the territories that Eleazar the priest, Joshua son of Nun, and the leaders of the clans of the tribes of Israel divided by lot in Shiloh, before the Lord, at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting. Thus they completed the division of the land.
