Exodus - Old Testament
Exodus – Old Testament
  • 1. Bezaleel, and Aholiab, and every man wise in heart, in whom the LORD hath put wisdom and understanding to know how to do all the work of the service of the sanctuary, shall they do as the LORD has commanded.
  • 2. And Moses called Bezaleel, and Oholiab, and every man wise in heart, to whom the LORD had given wisdom, to everyone whose heart moved him to approach the work to do it.
  • 3. So they received from Moses all the heave offering, which the children of Israel had brought for the work of the service of the sanctuary, in order to do it. And they kept bringing him freewill offerings in the morning.
  • 4. Then came all the wise men, who did all the work in the sanctuary, each one coming from the work he was doing.
  • 5. And they said unto Moses, The people bring much more than enough for the work which the LORD hath commanded to be done.
  • 6. Then Moses commanded, and a proclamation went throughout all the camp, saying, Let no man or woman do any more work for the offering of the sanctuary. Thus the people were prevented from bringing more.
  • 7. For the things they had were sufficient to do all the work, and more.

  • 8. All the wise men among those who did all the work in the sanctuary made ten curtains of fine twined linen, blue, purple, and scarlet yarn. and they made them with cherubim, the work of a craftsman.
  • 9. The length of one curtain was twenty-eight cubits, and the breadth four cubits; all the curtains had the same measurement.
  • 10. And he joined them five in one, and the other five he joined also in another.
  • 11. And he made loops of blue at the end of one curtain, at the end of the last one; he did the same with the end of the other curtain, at the end of the second.
  • 12. Fifty loops he made in one curtain, and another fifty he made in the end of the curtain that was at the second junction; the loops were facing each other.
  • 13. He also made fifty gold clasps, with which he joined the curtains together, so that they became one tabernacle.
  • 14. He also made curtains of goats' hair for the tent over the tabernacle; made eleven curtains.
  • 15. The length of one curtain was thirty cubits, and the breadth four cubits; all the curtains had the same measurement.
  • 16. And he joined together five of them separately, and another six also separately.
  • 17. And he made fifty loops at the end of the curtain, at the end of the first; he also made another fifty loops on the end of the curtain that was at the second junction.
  • 18. He also made fifty clasps of bronze to join the tent together, that it might be one.
  • 19. He also made a covering for the tent of rams' skins dyed red, and another covering of badgers' skins on top.
  • 20. He also made boards for the tabernacle of acacia wood, which stood upright.
  • 21. The length of one board was ten cubits, and the width a cubit and a half.
  • 22. Each plank had two sockets; so he did to all the boards of the tabernacle.
  • 23. So he made the boards for the tabernacle; twenty boards for the south side, for the south.
  • 24. And he made forty sockets of silver under the twenty boards; two sockets under one board for its two sockets, and two sockets under the other board for its two sockets.
  • 25. And for the other side of the tabernacle, which was toward the north side, he made twenty boards,
  • 26. and their forty sockets of silver; two sockets under one board, and two sockets under the other.
  • 27. And for the back of the tabernacle, toward the west side, he made six boards.
  • 28. He made two more boards for the corners of the tabernacle at the back.
  • 29. And they were juxtaposed from below, and joined together at the top with a ring; so he did with them both in the two corners.
  • 30. And there were eight boards, and their sockets of silver; sixteen bases; two sockets under one board, and two sockets under the other.
  • 31. He also made beams of acacia wood; five for the boards on one side of the tabernacle,
  • 32. and five bars for the boards on the other side of the tabernacle, and five bars for the boards on the back of the tabernacle, toward the west side.
  • 33. And he caused the crossbar in the middle to pass through the boards from one end to the other.
  • 34. And he overlaid the boards with gold, and made their rings of gold, to put in the crossbars; he also overlaid the crossbars with gold.
  • 35. And he made the veil of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen; and made in it cherubims of the workman's work.
  • 36. And he made four pillars of acacia wood for him, and overlaid them with gold; its clasps were of gold; and he smelted four bases of silver for them.
  • 37. He also made a curtain for the door of the tabernacle, of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen, the work of an embroiderer,
  • 38. and its five pillars, with their clasps; and overlaid their heads and their moldings with gold; but its five sockets were of bronze.
