Easter

  • 1. “Remember to observe the month of Abib and celebrate Easter in honor of the Lord your God. It was in that month, during the night, that He brought them out of Egypt.
  • 2. Offer as a Passover sacrifice to the Lord your God, an animal from your flock, whether an ox or a sheep, in the place He chooses to live.
  • 3. Do not eat the sacrifice with leavened bread; for seven days, they eat unleavened bread, symbolizing the distress of their hasty departure from Egypt. This will be a constant reminder throughout your life.
  • 4. During these seven days, do not allow leaven to grow throughout your land and do not leave any of the Passover sacrifice left for the next day.
  • 5. Do not offer the Passover in any city that the Lord your God gives you;
  • 6. only in the place He chooses to dwell. There you will make the sacrifice of the Passover at sunset, on the day you left Egypt.
  • 7. Cook the meat of the sacrifice and eat it in the place the Lord your God chooses. The next morning, each of you can return to your tent.
  • 8. For six days eat unleavened bread and on the seventh day hold an assembly in honor of the Lord your God; do not perform any work.

The feast of weeks

  • 9. Count seven weeks from the time you begin harvesting the grain.
  • 10. Then celebrate the Feast of Weeks in honor of the Lord your God, bringing a freewill offering in proportion to the blessings He has bestowed on you.
  • 11. Rejoice before the Lord your God in the place He chooses to live, together with your sons, daughters, menservants, maidservants, Levites, foreigners, orphans and widows who live in your cities.
  • 12. Remember that you were slaves in Egypt and faithfully obey these decrees.

The Feast of Tabernacles

  • 13. Also celebrate the Feast of Booths for seven days, after you gather the harvest of grain and wine.
  • 14. Rejoice in this festival together with your sons, daughters, male servants, female servants, Levites, foreigners, orphans and widows who live in your cities.
  • 15. During the seven days of the festival, offer sacrifices to the Lord your God in the place He chooses. The Lord will bless you abundantly in all your harvests and in all the work of your hands, and your joy will be complete.
  • 16. “Three times a year, all men must appear before the Lord their God at the place He chooses: at the Feast of Unleavened Bread, at the Feast of Weeks, and at the Feast of Booths. No one will appear before the Lord empty-handed;
  • 17. Each one will bring an offering according to the blessings he has received from the Lord his God.

The judges

  • 18. Establish judges and officials in all your cities, according to the tribes that the Lord your God has given you. They must judge the people fairly.
  • 19. Do not pervert justice or be partial. Do not accept bribes, for bribes blind the eyes of the wise and harm the cause of the righteous.
  • 20. Follow only righteousness, so that you may live and possess the land that the Lord your God is giving you.

No to idolatry

  • 21. Do not erect any sacred poles next to the altar that you build to honor the Lord your God,
  • 22. Nor set up holy pillars, for this is detestable to the Lord your God.
