Supplementary offers

  • 1. The Lord said to Moses:
  • 2. Speak to the children of Israel and say to them, When you come into the land where you dwell, which I will give you,
  • 3. and you offer to the Lord an offering made by fire, a burnt offering, or a sacrifice, by special vow, or of your will, or on your solemn feasts, to make a pleasing aroma to the Lord, of cattle, or of sheep,
  • 4. Then whoever offers his offering to the Lord shall bring, for a food offering, the tenth part of an ephah of fine flour, mixed with the fourth part of a hin of oil.
  • 5. And of wine for the drink offering, the fourth part of a hin, with the burnt offering or with the sacrifice, for a lamb.
  • 6. Or, for a ram, thou shalt offer for food offering two-tenths of fine flour, mixed with the third part of a hin of oil.
  • 7. And of wine, for a drink offering, the third part of a hin, as a sweet aroma to the Lord.
  • 8. And when thou shalt offer a bullock for a burnt offering, or a sacrifice, for a special vow, or peace offerings to the Lord,
  • 9. Thou shalt offer, with the bullock, a food offering of three-tenths of fine flour, mixed with half a hin of oil.
  • 10. And half a hin thou shalt offer of wine for a drink offering, an offering made by fire of a sweet aroma unto the LORD.
  • 11. Thus it shall be done with each ox, or with each ram, or with any of the lambs or the goats.
  • 12. According to their number, so shall you do to each one, according to the number you offer.
  • 13. All the natives will do these things in this way, offering an offering made by fire, of a sweet aroma to the Lord.
  • 14. And if any foreigner, or anyone among your generations, sojourns with you, offering an offering made by fire, of a sweet aroma to the Lord, as you do, so shall he do.
  • 15. There will be the same statute for you and for the foreigner who sojourns with you, perpetual statute throughout your generations; as you are, so shall the stranger be before the LORD.
  • 16. One law and one judgment shall be for you and for the stranger who sojourns with you.
  • 17. The Lord said more to Moses:
  • 18. Speak to the children of Israel and say to them, When you enter the land where I will lead you,
  • 19. it shall come to pass, that when ye eat of the bread of the land, ye shall offer an offering unto the LORD.
  • 20. Of the firstfruits of your dough you shall offer an offering to the Lord; like the firstfruits of the threshing floor, so shall you offer it.
  • 21. Of the first of your masses you shall give to the Lord an offering for your generations.

Sacrifices for involuntary guilt

  • 22. And when you err and do not keep all these commandments, which the Lord spoke to Moses,
  • 23. yea, all that the Lord commanded you by Moses, from the day that the Lord commanded it, and from that day forward throughout your generations,
  • 24. then, if it was done by mistake, without the knowledge of the congregation, the whole congregation shall offer a bull for a burnt offering, of a sweet aroma to the Lord, with its food offering and its drink offering, according to the rite, and a goat for a sin offering.
  • 25. And the priest shall make atonement for all the congregation of the children of Israel, and his error shall be forgiven; because it is for the whole congregation, and for the stranger who sojourns among them; because all the people erred through ignorance.
  • 26. And when a person sins by mistake and does anything that the Lord has commanded not to be done, and thus commits one of these things,
  • 27. then, when the sin he has committed becomes known to him, he will bring his offering, a goat without blemish, for his offering for the sin he has committed.
  • 28. And the priest shall make atonement for the error he has committed, for an error he did not know it, and it will be forgiven him.
  • 29. In the same way it will be done to the native of the children of Israel, as to the foreigner who sojourns among them.
  • 30. But the soul that does this deliberately, whether native or foreign, outrages the Lord, such a soul shall be cut off from his people.
  • 31. Because he despised the word of the Lord and did his will, such a soul shall be cut off from his people.

Disrespecting the Sabbath Law Leads to Death

  • 32. While the children of Israel were in the desert, they found a man gathering wood on the Sabbath day.
  • 33. And those who found him gathering wood brought him to Moses, Aaron and all the congregation.
  • 34. And they put him in prison, because it was not declared what should be done to him.
  • 35. Then said the Lord unto Moses, Surely the man shall be slain; all the congregation will stone him outside the camp.
  • 36. And all the congregation brought him out of the camp and stoned him, and he died, as the Lord had commanded Moses.

tassels on clothes

  • 37. The Lord also said to Moses:
  • 38. Speak to the children of Israel, and tell them that throughout their generations they shall make fringes on the hems of their garments, and that they put a cord of blue on the fringes of the hems.
  • 39. Ye shall have it on the fringes, that ye may see it, and remember all the commandments of the LORD, and do them; and ye shall not go after your heart, nor after your eyes, for whose sake ye commit adultery.
  • 40. That ye may remember all my commandments, and do them, and be holy unto your God.
  • 41. I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God. I am the Lord your God.
