David's descendants
- 1. These were the sons of David who were born in Hebron: His eldest son was Amnon, son of Ahinoam of Jezreel; the second, Daniel, of Abigail, of Carmel;
- 2. the third, Absalom, of Maacah, daughter of Talmai, king of Geshur; the fourth, Adonijah, from Haggite;
- 3. the fifth, Shephatiah, from Abital; and the sixth, Itream, from his wife Eglah.
- 4. These are the six sons of David who were born in Hebron, where he reigned seven years and six months. And in Jerusalem,
- 5. where David reigned thirty-three years, the following children were born to him: Shimea, Shobab, Nathan and Solomon, the four children he had with Bathsheba, daughter of Ammiel.
- 6. David had nine more sons: Ibar, Elishua, Elpalete,
- 7. Noga, Nepheg, Japhia,
- 8. Elisama, Eliada and Eliphelete.
- 9. All these were sons of David, besides those he had with his concubines, and his daughter Tamar, their sister.
- 10. Solomon's son was Rehoboam; Rehoboam's son was Abijah; Abijah's son Asa; Asa's son Jehoshaphat;
- 11. the son of Jehoshaphat, Jehoram; Jehoram's son Ahaziah; Ahaziah's son Joash;
- 12. the son of Joash, Amaziah; the son of Amaziah, Azariah; the son of Azariah, Jotham;
- 13. Jotham's son, Ahaz; Ahaz's son Hezekiah; Hezekiah's son Manasseh;
- 14. the son of Manasseh, Ammon; the son of Ammon, Josiah.
- 15. The sons of Josiah were: Johanan, the first; Jehoiakim the second; Zedekiah, the third; and Shallum, the fourth.
- 16. Jehoiakim's successors were: Jehoiachin and Zedekiah.
- 17. These were the sons of Jehoiachin, who was taken into captivity:
- 18. Shealtiel, Malchiram, Pedaiah, Senazar, Jecamiah, Hosama and Nedabiah.
- 19. These were the sons of Pedaiah: Zerubbabel and Shimei. These were the sons of Zerubbabel: Meshullam, Hananiah, and Shelomith their sister.
- 20. Zerubbabel had five more sons: Hashuba, Oel, Berekiah, Hashadiah and Jushab-Hesed.
- 21. These were the descendants of Hananiah: Pelatiah and Jesaiah, and the sons of Rephaiah, Arnan, Obadiah and Shecaniah.
- 22. These were the descendants of Shecaniah: Shemaiah and his sons Hattus, Igal, Bariá, Neariah and Shaphat; six descendants in all.
- 23. These were the three sons of Neariah: Elioenai, Hezekiah and Azricam.
- 24. These were the seven sons of Elioenai: Hodaviah, Eliashib, Pelaiah, Akkub, Johanan, Delaiah and Anani.
